WINTER - From Abandoned to Safe

Winter was found abandoned in a parking lot, forced to scavenge for survival. This hardship took a toll on her health, and x-rays revealed a foreign object in her stomach, leading to her being placed on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter. Thankfully, she was rescued and has since had her first vet appointment.

We have wonderful news to share! The foreign object and rocks have passed through her system, and she is eating and drinking well. Winter also suffered from a severe foxtail infestation, with numerous foxtails in her ears. Her ears have been cleaned, and she's on medication to help her heal. She also has a couple of broken teeth, one of which appears to have been infected and will require removal. A mass near her anus is believed to be scar tissue, likely from another foxtail. Despite her painful ordeal, Winter has been incredibly sweet and never shown aggression. Her bloodwork and urinalysis came back perfect, and the vet estimates her age to be closer to 8 years old. She is a truly wonderful dog with a resilient spirit.

Ongoing Health

Winter had a foreign object and rocks pass through her system, has had foxtails removed from her ears and is on medication. She also has broken teeth, one of which will need to be removed.

Winter has shown remarkable resilience and a sweet temperament, even while in pain. She will need continued patience and love as she adjusts to her new life.
