Derby loves to be wherever his people are, happily joining you in any room you're in. His loyalty is unmatched, and he thrives on companionship, always wanting to be by your side. While he might look a little sad with those expressive eyes, don't let it fool you – he's a sweet boy! Derby isn't particularly food-motivated but goes wild for freshly cooked chicken breast. He can be playful when the mood strikes but is also content to relax with you during downtime. He absolutely adores pets, especially belly rubs and face scratches. Ideal Home
Derby would benefit from a home where he can be free-roam in a doggy-proofed area rather than being crated. He needs a calm neighborhood and an experienced handler, or a backyard, as he tends to bark, pull, and jump on leash towards other dogs and people. Derby prefers to be the only dog in the household, as he's happiest being the center of attention. He also does not do well with cats and should live in a cat-free home. Derby would thrive in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to respect his boundaries.
