Meet Knight!
Knight is a stunning 50-pound Aussie mix with the prettiest mismatched eyes, an incredibly sweet soul, and a resilience that makes him even more special. This handsome boy is a tripod, but don't let that fool you - he still loves to move, play, and enjoy life just like any other dog. Knight can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially men, but he warms up quickly once he realizes he's safe. He can be sensitive about his head and neck being touched at first, so he'll need people who understand that trust comes before reaching for his collar or leash. The good news? It doesn't take him long to settle in - he just likes a little time to figure out that new people, places, and experiences aren't so scary. Once comfortable, Knight is an incredibly sweet, friendly boy who genuinely enjoys being around his people. He has a playful side and an active mind, though shelter stress has made it harder for him to fully show his personality right now. Around other dogs, he seems interested and gives all the signs that he wants to play, but when another dog engages, he often backs off. We suspect he truly enjoys canine companionship but is simply still decompressing. Because of this, he would do best with a gentle, respectful dog companion who won't play too rough but can offer friendship, confidence, and the occasional zoomie session when the mood strikes.
Ideal Home
Knight's ideal home includes a physically fenced yard so he has a safe place to move around freely. A one-level home would be ideal to make everyday life easier on his body. He can do well with children, though older, respectful kids are recommended so he can feel comfortable adjusting at his own pace. A calm child or another gentle dog who can engage him in playful moments would likely help him continue building confidence. With cats, Knight has shown very mild interest, so dog-savvy or independent cats would likely be the best fit.
Ongoing Health
Knight is a tripod, meaning he has three legs.
Training & Support
Knight can be sensitive about his head and neck being touched at first, so he'll need people who understand that trust comes before reaching for his collar or leash. He needs daily physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep both his body and busy mind happy. He's a smart boy who enjoys having things to do and thrives when given outlets for play and enrichment.
