About Grandma Ruth

Meet Adoptable Grandma Ruth! Grandma Ruth is a lovely 9-year-old lady who proves that life only gets sweeter with age. Ruth is the ultimate low-maintenance, high-affection partner who is currently living the good life in foster care after being picked up by Animal Control. It is clear she may have spent much of her past living outdoors in a yard, because having a soft couch, a warm home, and a pile of plush blankets makes her feel like she's living in pure luxury. She has mastered the art of the "relaxed lifestyle" and transitions seamlessly into the daily flow of a home, making her a world-class lounger and the ultimate office supervisor while you work, craft, or read.

Ruth is a true blanket connoisseur who loves to push her bedding around to engineer the absolute perfect nest before being tucked in for a cozy nap. While she is an expert couch companion, potential adopters should know she has absolutely zero sense of personal space! This sweet senior is more than happy to climb right into your lap, bestow some gentle face licks, and rearrange herself until she finds the exact sweet spot for a snooze-complete with the most content little smile on her face once she dozes off.

Grandma Ruth is a polite, unflappable lady with incredible leash manners. On neighborhood walks, she keeps her head high and easily strolls right past vocal neighborhood dogs without batting an eye. She is also a total star out in public! At a recent brewery adoption event, she looked smashing in her "Adopt Me" tee and fancy necklace, completely ignoring the other pups and focusing entirely on soaking up all the love, pets, and attention from every single human who walked by.

When it comes to cuisine, our grand lady has very discerning, elegant tastes. She has officially decided that chicken chunks in her kibble are beneath her and will meticulously eat around them. She prefers to savor her snacks carefully; while a frozen Kong is simply "too much work" for her liking, she is a massive fan of pig ears and will politely chew them over five or six minutes. If a treat is tasty and easy, she is all in!

Ideal Home

If you have a soft couch, a steady supply of blankets, and a lot of love to give, this sweet senior is ready to spend her retirement spoiling you with quiet companionship. As she continues to decompress and let her true personality bloom, she has recently started perking up and showing a bit more curiosity around feline friends, so any introductions to resident cats should be handled with careful supervision.

Ruth is fully crate-trained and sleeps like a dream through the night, though during the day she prefers to be "out and about" keeping her humans firmly in her eyesight.
