Chico is a 4-year-old, 15-pound sweetheart looking for a patient and loving forever home. He came from a hoarding situation, so the world can feel a little overwhelming at first. Chico is naturally shy and usually takes a few days to settle in and feel safe around new people and pets. Like many dogs from similar backgrounds, he finds comfort in a crate or quiet corner where he can observe everything around him. But once Chico realizes he's safe, his personality begins to shine. He becomes friendly, curious, and surprisingly outgoing. You'll often catch him happily prancing around, exploring his surroundings, and checking in with his favorite people. Chico is crate trained, potty pad trained, and incredibly quiet. While he doesn't seem interested in toys just yet, he enjoys watching the other dogs play and may discover his playful side once he has the security of a consistent, loving home. Chico isn't looking for perfection-just someone willing to give him a little time, patience, and understanding. In return, he'll show you just how rewarding it can be to help a shy dog blossom into the confident companion he was always meant to be.
