Meet Juice, a charming and affectionate 4-year-old neutered Black Mouth Cur mix who weighs about 56 lbs. He has the most soulful eyes and a heart full of love, just waiting for a safe and stable place to call home. Juice, or Joey as his foster calls him, loves to cuddle and is a big fan of his toys. His favorite pastime is simply being near his person, often resting his head and paw on your arm – a truly heartwarming gesture of his devotion. He can be a bit shy and reserved around new people, but with slow, gentle introductions, he blossoms into a deeply loyal companion.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home with patient, soft-spoken adults who understand that healing takes time. He needs a home where he can feel safe and loved, and he'd be happiest as the only dog, soaking up all the attention. A cat-free home is a must, as he is not cat-friendly and will chase.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression with other dogs, but with routine and stability, he has made great progress. He eats separately in his crate and may still guard high-value treats, which can be managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice pulls on the leash when excited and is working on this. He responds best to patience and kindness; harsh corrections can make him feel guilty and cower. He is always crated when left alone due to his love for chewing, and while he has had some potty accidents, he sleeps well in his crate through the night. He does great in the car but may need a little assistance getting in.
