Toffee is a 3-year-old, 52-lb Australian Cattle Dog mix with a calm and easygoing personality. While her breed mix might suggest high energy, she's actually a laid-back girl who prefers cozy blankets, quiet time, and cuddling up with a favorite stuffed toy. She spent much of her early life on the streets, so she's still learning that people can be kind. Because of this, she can be shy at first, but she has never shown any fear-based aggression. Once she feels safe, her sweet nature truly shines, and she forms deep, loyal bonds with her people.
Ideal Home
Toffee does well with other dogs and coexists peacefully. She's not especially playful, but she's happy to share her space with canine friends as long as they respect her naps, since being startled from deep sleep can be a little scary for her. She's also done well around cats. She hasn't lived with children, but she would likely do best with older kids who can move slowly and give her time to build trust.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Toffee is crate trained and puppy pad trained, and she is non-destructive when left out. She is continuing to work on gaining confidence with leash walking and the outdoors. With patience, reassurance, and consistency, she continues to make progress every day.

Transporation
Toffee is currently located in Texas and can be adopted either locally or out of state. We coordinate everything with our ground transport teams to ensure they arrive to the adopter safely and we keep the adopter in the loop every step of the way. Transport costs are included in the adoption fees. We also have our fosters video chat with potential adopters prior to adoption so that the adopter gets to see the animals and ensure it's a fit. We allow adoption fees to be paid via goods and services if desired to give our adopters extra security and protection.
