Speedy Gonzales's real-life counterpart, Diego, is ready to race into your heart! ¡Ándale! ¡Ándale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba! This lively fellow was found wandering near a busy road in Houston, a brave survivor who is now seeking his forever home. After receiving much-needed medical attention, including being neutered, vaccinated, and completing heartworm treatment, Diego is eager for his next adventure.

Ideal Home

Diego would thrive in a home with a yard where he can safely zoom and play. He would also do well with someone familiar with the energy levels of the Doberman breed. Due to his strong prey drive, Diego cannot be placed in a home with cats, as he is known to chase smaller critters.

Ongoing Health

Diego's ears have scars along the cropped edges, which may be from previous attempts at healing or ear wraps. While these do not cause him discomfort or require ongoing care, they are a part of his story.

Training & Support

Diego is crate trained and uses his crate as his "off" button. He enjoys car rides and meeting new people, and he generally remains quiet and observant. He has a good balance of needing both physical and mental stimulation. Diego is a playful dog who gets along with other dogs of all sizes and personalities, often encouraging them to join him in high-speed runs.
