Blackjack is a handsome, approximately 2-year-old, 75-pound German Shorthaired Pointer/German Shepherd Dog mix who was found roaming the streets of Fairfield in early 2024. He was initially taken in by animal control, but when no one claimed him, his finder contacted us for help. Blackjack has since been shifted to a foster home where he's been described as a bundle of energy, affection, and fun! He may not be a Lab, but he's certainly one-of-a-kind, ready to be your next adventure buddy and reward you with endless love and companionship.
Blackjack is a resilient, affectionate, and fun-loving boy with a big personality. He's an outdoor adventurer who loves to run, play, and explore, happiest with plenty of room to stretch his legs. Whether it's chasing squirrels, splashing in a kiddie pool, fetching rocks, or enjoying the fresh air, he's always up for some fun. He's equal parts goofy and sweet, sure to keep you laughing with his antics and melt your heart with his loyalty. Morning belly rubs are his favorite way to start the day! He's eager for walks, though still working on his leash manners. With slow introductions, Blackjack enjoys meeting new people and dogs. Trips to Home Depot are a favorite for him as he loves exploring new sights and smells! This bright boy responds well to structure and consistency and is ready to shine with a committed owner who will guide him.
Ideal Home
Blackjack is searching for an experienced dog owner who can offer him a loving home with the structure, patience, and training he needs to thrive. He’d do well in a suburban or rural setting with plenty of space to run, where he can fully enjoy outdoor adventures. He’d also thrive with another dog or kids to play with. Blackjack is not a fit for first-time dog owners, a home with cats, or urban living.
Ongoing Health
Blackjack is in great health. He is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered.
Training & Support
Blackjack is still refining his leash manners and is eager to go on walks. He responds well to structure and consistency and is ready to learn with a committed owner.
