Spike

Meet Spike! This handsome, two-year-old German Shepherd mix is a delightful blend of athleticism and affection, weighing around 50 pounds. His striking coat and intelligent eyes hint at his curious and devoted nature. Spike truly believes he's a lap dog and loves to snuggle up for belly rubs. He's a playful pup who adores his squeaky toys and is an enthusiastic swimmer, always ready for an adventure.

When Spike first arrived, he was quite fearful, but with time and patience, he has blossomed into a confident and affectionate companion. He still might bark at strangers out of uncertainty, but he quickly looks to his people for reassurance. He has lived harmoniously with female dogs and would benefit from slow, careful introductions to any new canine friends.

Ideal Home

Spike needs a patient, experienced pet parent who can offer a fenced yard, loving guidance, and steady leadership. He would do best in a home where he can continue to build his confidence.

Spike is neutered and microchipped.

Training & Support

Spike is crate-trained and house-trained. He knows several commands, including sit, wait, crate, out, and comes when called. He responds well to positive reinforcement and structure. He can sometimes be uneasy around loud sirens and may whimper if he sees his people cuddling another dog, but with reassurance, he continues to improve.

Spike is currently in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and will remain with his current family until a suitable new home is found. He is open to long-distance adoption.
