You know how some dogs you can just look at and know they are happy, friendly, and good company? That was exactly how I felt the moment I saw Hanky. It was across the yard and I just knew he was going to be a good-time boy, and I was not wrong. If pure joy were a dog, it would be Hanky Baby! He is estimated to be just under 1 year old, so he has his happy personality paired with the wiggles and sweetness of puppy days. Simply, he is the definition of happy-go-lucky, friendly, affectionate, social, and always ready to make a new best friend.
Ideal Home
Hanky would thrive with a family that enjoys walks, hikes, outings, and positive training. Older kids would be a better match at this stage simply because he is still mastering the art of containing his enthusiasm and his greetings can be a bit jumpy, but this will train away. If your kids know how to say "NO!" then he will be a perfect fit. He is sunshine in puppy form – sweet, loving, eager, and ready to grow into the very best version of himself. A gentle, medium-energy dog at home would be a perfect buddy for him to grow up with.

Hanky is up to date on all vetting and has been given a health certificate deeming him healthy for travel.
Training & Support
Hanky is house and crate trained and has a great base of house manners. He already knows "sit" and is motivated by treats, making him a dream to teach. Like all puppies, Hanky has basic things to learn, and one area he will need continued guidance is on-leash walking. He is responsive, sensitive, and thrives when someone shows him what's expected. He did wonderfully with the cat during his assessment and, with guidance and consistency, can absolutely become a cat-compatible household member.

Transportation
Hanky is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, and connect with fellow adopters and fosters through a private Facebook event page. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
