Hey there! I'm Chook, which is Australian for "Chicken"! How fun is that?! I'm a charming Bully Breed mix with a beautiful, velvety red coat and the most adorable, quirky ears. I'm not a big guy, weighing in at about 42 pounds of pure love.
My journey has been quite an adventure! I was rescued from a situation where someone was trying to do a good deed by fostering, but unfortunately, they couldn't manage all the responsibilities. Thankfully, I landed with my current foster pawrents who happen to be professional dog trainers! How lucky am I?! They've been teaching me all sorts of neat tricks, like "sit," "down," and my personal favorite, "place!" I'm also getting great at following directional cues when we're out and about on my leash.
When I first meet new people, I can be a bit shy. But once I warm up, I turn into a playful, energetic goofball! I love to let my voice be heard and zoom around the backyard like a happy goose. I think I'd do wonderfully in a home with older teenagers, but I absolutely need to be in a home without young children. My play style with my people can be a bit "mouthy," so that's something to keep in mind.
I am very social with other dogs and would absolutely love to have canine companions in my forever home! I can be a little bossy sometimes, but I'm easily redirected, which makes me a great candidate for a multi-dog household. I haven't had the chance to meet any cats yet, though.
Ideal Home
A home with older teens or adults, and definitely a household with other dogs who can show me the ropes. Due to my mouthy play style, I would not be a good fit for a home with young children.

I'm already learning basic obedience like "sit," "down," and "place," and I'm getting good at leash manners. My foster parents are trainers and are happy to share their knowledge to help me succeed in my new home. I can be a bit mouthy during play, which will require gentle guidance.
