Meet Daisy Duke!
If you're a sucker for a pup with a wiggly little rump, a cute nub tail, and a heart full of love, congratulations... you just found your girl. Daisy somehow ended up at one of the highest kill shelters in Houston. One of our volunteers happened to spot her while there to meet another dog. With her happy wiggles and sweet personality, she immediately stole her heart. So when Daisy landed on the euthanasia list just a week later, we knew there was no way we were leaving her behind. Now she's safe, thriving in a foster home, and ready to find the forever family she deserves.
At around 2 years old and 48 pounds, Daisy is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. She absolutely adores people and lights up anytime she meets another dog. Honestly, we suspect she may even be a little younger because she has that instant "OMG let's play!" puppy-like excitement with every furry friend she meets. Her foster sibling, a 2-year-old cattle dog, became her bestie immediately.
Ideal Home
Daisy would thrive with another playful dog in her forever home, though she'd also do just fine with regular social time and adventures with other pups. We aren't sure how she feels about cats, but she does show a bit of prey drive for squirrels on walks.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions mentioned.
Training & Support
Daisy is potty trained and walks nicely on leash. She can be a little timid in the car at first, likely because she worries she's being abandoned again, but with love and reassurance, she's already learning those scary days are behind her forever. She occasionally lets out a cute hound-style howl.
