Kira

Kira is a 1-year-old, approximately 40lb Golden Doodle who is as sweet and shy as her name suggests. Previously surrendered from a commercial breeder, Kira's early life likely lacked the warmth and affection she truly deserves. Now in foster care, she's slowly but surely beginning to blossom and show her sunny personality. Kira is an excellent traveler in the car, quickly adapts to new routines, and is impeccably house-trained. She's a big fan of tennis balls and can often be found entertaining herself by throwing and catching her favorite toy.

Ideal Home

Kira would thrive as the sole focus of a patient and loving household, or she could potentially share her home with a calm, canine companion. Due to her skittish nature, a securely fenced yard is a must for her to feel safe exploring. An all-female household would be ideal, as she has shown a preference for female energy.

Ongoing Health

Kira has been spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on all her vaccines and preventative care for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. She recently received her first real haircut after arriving extremely matted and will require regular grooming to maintain her beautiful coat.

Training & Support

Kira is a work in progress and requires a patient individual to help her continue to build confidence. She has made significant strides in her foster home, progressing from needing to be carried outside to happily walking on a leash and exploring her yard. Consistency and a predictable routine are key to her continued adjustment.
