Sparky is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix, his estimated birthday is 02/02/2022, and he weighs 53lbs.

Adoption fee is $300 in Texas; out of state transport is available for an additional fee. (Currently located in Houston, TX)

Sparky is the kind of dog who brings a calm, steady kind of joy into your life. With his sweet nature and gentle soul, he’s happiest right by your side… whether that’s curled up on the couch for cuddles or joining you for a peaceful walk around the neighborhood.

This handsome boy loves the simple things: belly rubs, fresh air, and spending time with his people. At home, Sparky is wonderfully mellow and easygoing. He’s the type of companion who will happily match your pace… relaxing when you relax and joining in when you’re up and about.

Sparky enjoys going out for walks and even a trip to the dog park, where he can stretch his legs and take in all the sights and smells. He walks nicely on a leash, though he might get a little excited if a squirrel crosses his path… he just can’t help himself!

He does well with other dogs, especially with proper, calm introductions. Sparky appreciates when new friends take things slow, and once he’s comfortable, his sweet personality truly shines.

Sparky would do best in a home that understands his gentle nature and allows him the time to settle in and feel safe. In return, he’ll give you unwavering loyalty, quiet companionship, and so much love. *We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.

*Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.

*Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.

*Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.

*All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
