Rye is a 2-year-old, 56-pound bundle of sunshine and happiness, with a smile that says it all! He's a goofy boy with a knack for snuggles, often greeting you with a full-body wiggle or a move that resembles a marriage proposal. Rye is sure to chase away any blues and make sure you never feel alone. He may be a Lab mix, possibly with some Rhodesian, but his breed is not guaranteed. Rye is affectionate, people-oriented, and happiest when he's close to you.
Ideal Home
Rye is social and polite with other dogs, especially calm, self-assured females who can match his enthusiasm. He was polite and curious with a resident cat, making him a potential candidate for a home with feline friends, provided a slow introduction. Rye adores children and is gentle and affectionate. With smaller children, he will need guidance to learn how to contain his excitement. Rye could thrive in an apartment with plenty of exercise and enrichment, though a house with a yard would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Rye is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has also been tested for heartworms.
Training & Support
Rye can get a little jumpy when excited, but he's quickly learning that sitting earns more praise than jumping. With a little polishing, he'll be a master of manners. Rye needs some practice with leash skills as he can be a bit all over the place, but he listens well to corrections and loves treats, making him a prime candidate for training success! He will thrive with an adopter who enjoys playtime, walks, and some structure.
