Nessie is a sweet, gentle 1-year-old Lab mix who is ready to find a family of her very own. She came to rescue after being found abandoned in Tennessee with her babies, our Fast Food litter. Despite her rough start, Nessie has a loving heart and is learning just how wonderful life as a cherished family dog can be.
Nessie is housebroken and crate trained, and she gets along beautifully with both dogs and cats. She enjoys the company of other animals and is always happy to have friends around. While she may be a little reserved when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, she simply takes her time to feel comfortable. Once she does, her sweet personality shines through.
This girl has mastered the art of relaxation. She believes couches were made for lounging, beds are perfect for napping, and sunny spots on the deck are the best place to recharge her batteries. In fact, Nessie seems to be solar-powered and can often be found soaking up the sunshine whenever she gets the chance.
Nessie loves her people, enjoys the company of other dogs, and doesn't mind cats at all. One of her favorite hobbies is collecting every toy she can find and proudly carrying them outside. She likes to know her family is nearby but is also independent enough to relax when they're away.
Like many young dogs, Nessie is still working on a few things, including basic manners and resisting the temptation to counter surf. She's eager to learn and continues to make great progress.
Nessie would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and explore, or with a family committed to taking her on regular walks and adventures. Her only strong opinion? Rain is completely unnecessary, and she'd prefer to stay inside when it's wet.
If you're looking for a loyal, laid-back companion with a sweet soul and plenty of love to give, Nessie may be the perfect addition to your family.
