Sweet Pea is an approximately 9-month-old, 27-pound "Texas Special" pup who has effortlessly charmed her way into the hearts of her foster family. She arrived in her foster home and, without missing a beat, integrated herself with the six resident dogs and the people. She's described as a wonderfully social, affectionate, and easygoing young dog with a gentle nature, making her a perfect fit for many homes. Sweet Pea enjoys playtime with her dog friends, exhibits excellent social skills, and can coexist peacefully with dogs of all sizes and personalities. She handles introductions with new dogs, both on and off leash, beautifully, choosing to walk away from less-than-ideal encounters with a mature demeanor. While playful, she's not an overwhelming puppy and has a calm, balanced energy, making her easy to live with. When playtime is over, she's happy to curl up for cuddles. She also loves people, greeting them with warmth and affection, and has spent time with a two-year-old child with wonderful results. On leash, Sweet Pea walks nicely, responds well to guidance, and rides through new environments with confidence. She's likely to do well in either a house or an apartment, provided she receives regular exercise and enrichment. Sweet Pea has shown playful curiosity towards cats and is recommended for a home with a dog-savvy cat and ideally another confident dog to help model appropriate behavior.
