Meet Kai, a 4-year-old spayed shepherd mix with a heart as big as her zoomies! This sweet girl weighs 47 pounds and is currently being fostered in San Antonio, Texas. Kai greets the world with enthusiasm, eager to make friends with dogs of all sizes and people of all ages. She loves to run, chase, and show off her happy zooms, often with a little playful bark of excitement. Kai also enjoys playing with toys and will happily keep herself entertained with them when shes not busy running around with her doggy friends. Her enthusiastic spirit makes her the perfect buddy for an active household, and once shes had her fun, shes more than happy to flop down for pets, belly rubs, and snuggles.

Kai is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, though she may pull slightly on the leash when she sees another dog—only because shes excited to say hello and make a new friend. She has also done beautifully with children and thrives on the affection and attention she receives from them. Kai has no issues with stairs and rides like a champ in the car, making her a versatile companion wherever life takes you. She can be left out unattended in her foster home, though we always recommend crating any new dog until theyve had time to acclimate to a new environment. The only thing that can ruffle her happy-go-lucky nature is loud noises or storms, which can make her a little nervous, but with love and reassurance she settles well. With her playful spirit, affectionate nature, and eager heart, Kai is ready to be the perfect addition to a loving family. All she needs is a home that can give her the activity she craves and the love she deserves—and she'll return it tenfold with loyalty, laughter, and endless tail wags.

Training & Support

Kai is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. She may pull slightly on the leash when excited to greet other dogs. Kai can be left out unattended, but crating a new dog is recommended for acclimation. She may become nervous during loud noises or storms but settles well with reassurance.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• Transports run every few weeks, and we will arrange transport for approved adopters on the next available transport.
• If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
• We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. If you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply.
• If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please ensure you have spoken with them and they are on board.

Kai is located in San Antonio, Texas. Our rescue can arrange transport out of state once she is matched with an approved adopter.
