Meet Otis! This handsome 2-year-old, 50-pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix is neutered, fully vaccinated, and eagerly awaiting his forever home. Otis was returned to a shelter due to a severe skin condition, but thanks to his foster's dedication, he's now healthy, happy, and sporting a glorious new coat! Otis is a resilient and joyful soul who adores people and is quick to let you know if your petting services are no longer required with a gentle paw. He thrives on positive reinforcement and is eager to please his humans.
Otis is a social butterfly with other dogs, friendly, respectful, and enjoys playtime while also understanding when a dog needs their space. He currently lives harmoniously with dogs of all sizes and would love a canine sibling in his new home. While he can be a bit shy when meeting new dog friends, he warms up quickly. Otis has a wonderful zest for life, enjoying energetic play sessions as much as cozy couch snuggles, making him a perfect fit for a moderately active home. He walks beautifully on a leash with a little initial excitement, loves car rides, and even tolerates bath time like a true gentleman. He is house-trained, potty-trained, and crate-trained, settling well in his crate with a stuffed toy. Otis has shown no signs of separation anxiety, destructive behavior, food aggression, or resource guarding. He is fed separately for ease.
Ideal Home
Otis would do best in a home that appreciates a good snuggle session and is moderately active. He hasn't been around cats, so his compatibility is unknown. Due to his size and enthusiastic jumping, he would likely do best with dog-savvy older children.
Ongoing Health
Otis has fully recovered from a severe skin condition and is now thriving with a healthy coat.
Training & Support
Otis is house-trained, potty-trained, and crate-trained. He responds well to positive reinforcement.
