Bumper

Bumper is a truly resilient and loving boy who has overcome incredible odds! In November 2023, he was found struck by a car, severely emaciated, and with a significant head injury – hence his name, inspired by the car bumper that caused his trauma. Despite a grim prognosis, Bumper's fighting spirit shone through, and he not only survived the night but has continued to show remarkable improvement each day. He spent quite some time healing and undergoing necessary treatments, including heartworm treatment and neutering, which is why he's been with us a bit longer. But through it all, Bumper has shown his gratitude with a consistently friendly and playful demeanor, always greeting our staff with a big smile. He's truly one of our special survivors and a staff favorite!

Ideal Home

Bumper would thrive in a home that allows him plenty of space to run and play, as he enjoys both indoor and outdoor living. Given his strength, a home with older, responsible children who can handle a large dog with care would be best.

Ongoing Health

Bumper has been kept up-to-date on all vaccinations, de-wormings, and monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. He has been neutered and has completed his heartworm treatment. He is currently a little overweight, but we expect he'll shed those extra pounds with more playtime in his new home.

Training & Support

Bumper is still working on leash training and can pull a bit during walks. He will also benefit from additional house training.

Transportation

Bumper is currently located at our rescue in Georgia. With an approved application, he can be transported to New Jersey and available for adoption at the Tractor Supply in Ringoes during one of our monthly adoption events.
