Meet Deuce, a 1-year-old, 70-pound German Shepherd/Mastiff mix with a goofy, playful personality and plenty of young-dog energy. He is friendly, social, people-oriented without being clingy, and interested in treats. Deuce has adorable floppy ears and expressive eyes, and he is currently underweight and could stand to gain a few pounds.

Ideal Home

Deuce has shown promising interactions with children under 8. He has been enthusiastic and playful with one child and calmly enjoyed gentle petting from another. He seemed interested in meeting other dogs, but he has not yet had a formal dog-to-dog evaluation. Slow introductions after appropriate decompression are recommended.

He would benefit from a home that can provide structure, exercise, continued training, and time to decompress outside the shelter.

Ongoing Health

Deuce is currently wearing a cone while a small skin wound in his undercarriage area heals. He could stand to gain a few pounds.

Training & Support

Deuce is playful, friendly, and gentle. His shelter environment limits his opportunity to burn off energy, so continued training and appropriate exercise will help him thrive.
