Benji in RI

Hi there! My name is Benji, and I'm a 7-year-old, 11lb terrier mix who's 100% adorable and full of youthful love and energy! My foster mom says I'm a truly awesome dog – curious, playful, and happy. I love it when my people are home, but I'm also comfortable being alone for a few hours. Walks are my favorite, and I'm a pro at leash walking and potty breaks – no accidents here! I enjoy meeting new people and exchanging sniffs for pets. My experience with other dogs has been mixed, sometimes I enjoy playing with smaller dogs, but other times it's best for me to keep my distance. I would likely do best as a solo pet, but I might be okay with the right dog sibling.

Ideal Home

I would love a fenced-in backyard to romp in, but if you don't have one, I'll be happy with plenty of outdoor time during walks.

Ongoing Health

I was treated for heartworm and am now negative.

Training & Support

I'm working on commands like "sit," "stay," and "come," and I'm sure I could learn with some patient training. I sleep in a crate at night, which helps me feel secure, especially since I used to guard the bed in my past life. I'm great in the car for any journey and surprisingly calm during bath time.
