Daisy Lynn is a sweet senior mixed-breed girl, estimated to be 10-12 years old and weighing about 27 pounds. She has a gentle spirit and a heart full of love to give! Despite being blind, Daisy navigates her world impressively well and doesn’t let it slow her down. She’s a laid-back, “couch potato” type who enjoys the simple things—soft beds, warm sunshine, and time spent near her people. Daisy came into rescue after her owner lost their housing and had never received veterinary care. Since then, she’s been treated for a UTI and had her anal glands addressed. She is also on medications including preventatives, Gabapentin, Trazodone, and eye drops for glaucoma. She is housebroken, though she had some accidents related to her UTI (now resolved). She walks well on a leash, handles being picked up without issue, and is generally an easy, low-maintenance companion. While she’s more on the independent side, Daisy has her affectionate moments. She’ll greet you with the cutest little “tippy-tappy” dance and lean into you for love. If you give her a heads-up before picking her up (“1-2-3”), she’ll even give a little hop to help—it’s incredibly endearing. Her one quirk? She’s not a fan of her eye drops—but otherwise, she’s a very easygoing girl.
Ideal Home
Daisy would do best in a calm, patient household with minimal stairs, as she can occasionally misstep due to her vision. A predictable routine and someone comfortable managing her eye care are important. A fenced yard would be ideal—she absolutely loves wandering, rolling in the grass, and soaking up the sun—but she could adapt to a home without one if she gets consistent walks.
Ongoing Health
Daisy is being treated for glaucoma and requires daily eye drops. She is also on daily medications including preventatives, Gabapentin, and Trazodone. She is scheduled for a dental procedure to help her feel even better.
Training & Support
Daisy is housebroken and walks well on a leash. She is fine being home alone for periods of time, as long as she has breaks during the day. She gets along with other respectful dogs, provided they aren't overly in her face. She may be okay with cats; more information can be provided.
