Sandy is a 2-year-old, approximately 33 lb bundle of love with a heart as big as her spirit. She's a resilient Staffordshire Terrier mix who was found as a stray in Saltillo, Mexico. Her journey to find a forever home has been a challenging one, marked by a near-fatal health scare during her spay surgery. Thanks to dedicated care, Sandy has overcome her coagulation issues and the weakness in her hind legs, proving her incredible strength and will to live. She's now a grateful and loving girl who is eager to shower her future family with affection.
Ideal Home
Sandy would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard where she can safely explore and play. Her ideal family will have a deep understanding of the needs of rescued animals, particularly those who require extra protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly recommended, as is a high level of patience and tolerance for a dog who is still learning the ropes. A family with the time and dedication to provide her with regular exercise will help her flourish.
Ongoing Health
Sandy has been through a lot and is now spayed, up-to-date on her DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, and has been dewormed. She tested negative for heartworm and 4DX diseases and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Sandy is not house-trained, and her foster team has many pets to care for, making individual house-training a challenge. However, with consistent guidance and positive reinforcement from her new family, she can learn quickly. Her past experiences have taught her the importance of trust and protection, and with patience, she will become a devoted companion.
