A little about them
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Darla, an energetic 8-year-old Dachshund mix with a short-haired coat. She is loyal, loving, clean, and enjoys spending time with her family. Darla loves being outdoors, following her nose, and taking long walks.
Ideal Home
Darla would do well with a senior family or someone who works from home. She enjoys the company of other dogs but does not want to play with them. She may be suitable for older children who will not chase or bother her, but she has not spent much time around children. Darla detests cats. A fully fenced yard is mandatory, and she is available to Ontario residents only.
Ongoing Health
Darla is healthy, has lost a few pounds in foster care, and currently weighs 41 pounds. Her food is measured and served twice daily to help maintain a healthy weight. She eats Royal Canin Small Breed Adult Food and is not a fussy eater. She is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4DX tested negative, and has been dewormed.
Training & Support
Darla is housebroken and loves meeting new people. She barks when someone is at the door. She pulls hard on her harness lead and needs more structure to walk nicely. She is used to a quiet home and enjoys keeping watch from her foster parent's bed at bedtime.
