Stewie Winter is a handsome, friendly hunk of a puppy with a thick merle coat and a sweet, calm presence. He's five months old and weighs 36 lbs as of June 9, 2026. Stewie was born with impaired vision and has underdeveloped, small eyes. Despite this, he navigates the world with optimism and joy, using his other senses to quickly map his environment and moving with ease in familiar spaces. He's curious, playful with other social creatures, and affectionate with humans. Stewie was part of the Winter litter, born in Louisiana in early January 2026 and raised in a loving foster home. He is sensitive to loud and moving noises, so his world is intentionally kept small as he learns. He's a smart boy who is building his confidence daily with appropriate, small-dose exposures and positive reinforcement.
Ideal Home
Stewie will do best in a quiet home and neighborhood with a consistent floor layout and plenty of safe, soft spaces with non-slip floors. He would likely thrive in a household with lower foot traffic, just a few resident people, and no or older children. He is sensitive to loud noises, especially traffic.
Ongoing Health
Stewie has micropthalmia and impaired vision. While there's nothing that can improve his vision, the primary goal is to keep him comfortable. He may be prone to surface ocular infections (conjunctivitis) if material gets into his eyes or due to eyelid irritation, though this has not been observed. Surgery or medical therapy could be considered if this becomes an issue, but no treatment is recommended at this time. He has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative, and is microchipped.
Training & Support
Stewie is an intelligent people-pleaser and wonderfully mild-mannered, responding well to guidance and treats. He is calm in his crate, rides well in the car, and is doing well with house training. He will need continued support with puppy basics such as house training, crate time, leash walking, and manners. He has learned "sit" easily and is building his vocabulary.
