About Monika

Monika is a sweet and cautious 1-year-old Labrador mix, weighing around 26 lbs. She was rescued from the streets of Saltillo, Mexico, along with her mother and siblings. Initially shy and fearful, Monika has blossomed with love and patience, revealing a playful, funny, and food-motivated personality. She's doing well with crate training and socializing with other dogs and people, though she still needs time and a gentle approach to build trust. Monika is very noble and submissive, and with the right guidance, she's sure to become a devoted companion.

Ideal Home

Monika would thrive in a home with an active family who enjoys daily walks or hiking. A fenced backyard is essential for her safety and exploration. Given her past, her new family should have an open mind about the needs of rescued street animals and be prepared to provide consistent protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly recommended, as is a high tolerance and patience for helping a rescued puppy adjust. She is not yet house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Monika is spayed and has received her DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, as well as Bordetella. She has been dewormed and tested negative for heartworm. She receives monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

Monika is not yet house-trained and will require dedicated effort to achieve this. She is still a bit shy and cautious, so patience and consistent positive reinforcement will be key to helping her fully trust her new family and blossom into her best self.
