Smokey is a 2-year-old male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. He weighs 53 pounds and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Smokey is a super sweet boy who just wants love and attention! He is very smart and a quick learner, with a kind heart and an affectionate nature. Smokey has a low to moderate energy level; he enjoys playing with other dogs and cuddling on the couch. He is submissive during play and loves a good game of chase. Smokey is also a total couch potato who's happy to relax with you all day. He is leash-trained, potty-trained, and doesn't have a mean bone in his body.
Ideal Home
Smokey would prefer a home without cats. He would thrive in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people. Due to some separation anxiety, he would be best suited for someone with a house rather than an apartment. He would LOVE a home with someone who works from home or is only away for a few hours a day, though he does well if left to free roam.

Training & Support
Smokey is fully potty trained and walks well on a leash. He can be a little nervous around strangers and might bark out of excitement, but is easily redirected. He does pull slightly at the beginning of walks but settles in quickly. He is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut in. Smokey has some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he doesn't tear anything up and eventually stops crying. He would do well in a home with a doggie companion, as he loves playing with other dogs.
