Meet Jax, a dapper and intelligent 12-year-old Rat Terrier weighing in at 25 lbs. This active boy is a survivor, having beaten cancer, and is now looking for a special person to share his golden years with. Jax's favorite pastimes include soaking up the sun, going for walks and jogs, playing with his stuffed toys, and playing fetch. He's a sweet boy with a loving heart, ready to be your devoted companion.

Ideal Home

Jax would do well as a single dog or with a small, calm canine companion. He needs a home without cats or other small pets.

Ongoing Health

Jax is in excellent physical condition after successfully undergoing treatment for a mast cell tumor.

Training & Support

Jax is house-trained and signals when he needs to go out. He is trustworthy indoors and doesn't engage in destructive behaviors. While his anxiety has improved with a consistent schedule and more exercise, it can lead to barking if not managed. He can be protective of his space and may yowl or snap if handled roughly or stepped on, so he needs a muzzle for physical handling.
