Prince is a handsome boy with a heart of gold, looking for his forever home! He's a mixed breed, approximately 2 to 2.5 years old, and weighs between 58-64 pounds. Prince came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. He was sadly found at a high-kill shelter, heartworm positive and with an eye issue that was easily treatable but neglected. Thankfully, he was rescued and received a neuter, heartworm treatment, and surgery for entropion to fix his eye. He has since recovered beautifully from his treatment and is now heartworm negative! Prince is up-to-date on all his shots and has proven to be a gem.
Ideal Home
Prince would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard, as he loves to play outdoors. He's not suited for apartment living. While he enjoys the company of other dogs and is playful, a canine companion is not a requirement for him. He's a versatile boy who would do well with a family that includes children, a couple, or a single person, as long as they include him in their daily adventures. He should not be tied out or allowed to roam without supervision, and electric fences are not an option.
Ongoing Health
Prince is heartworm negative and has had his eye surgery for entropion, which has successfully corrected the issue. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Training & Support
Prince is crate trained and potty trained. He is treat and food motivated, and not food aggressive. He knows commands such as "sit," "come," "heel" (for leash walking), and "gentle/nice" (for taking treats). He was noted to hump other dogs in the shelter, but this behavior has stopped since his neutering. He rides well in the car and enjoys walks. His energy level is medium.
