Meet Rufus, a charming 2-year-old, 22lb Cockapoo/Shih Tzu mix who's a delightful blend of smarts, sweetness, and undeniable star power! This fluffy fellow was once a stray, but even then, his tail never stopped wagging. Now cleaned up and safe, Rufus is a joyful, clever, and affectionate pup who thrives on love. At a perfect "pick me up" size, he adores belly rubs and is a fantastic companion. Rufus walks beautifully on a leash, knows "sit," and is a fast learner who genuinely wants to be a good boy. He's crate and house-trained when kept on a schedule, and he always comes when called. Rufus absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine friend, though he'd also be happy as an only dog with an active family.
Ideal Home
Rufus is looking for a home that understands he has a lot of enthusiasm for life. Due to his exuberance, he's best suited for a household without children under 10 years old.
Ongoing Health
Rufus is fully vetted and ready for his forever home. He has been neutered, microchipped, is heartworm negative, and up to date on all his vaccinations.
Training & Support
Rufus is house-trained when kept on a schedule. He is still polishing his manners and learning to manage his excitement, but he's eager to please and learns quickly.

- The adoption fee is $395, plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.
Transportation
Rufus is currently located in the Houston area. We arrange transport for approved adopters. Dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air-conditioned/heated vans from our Rescue Ranch in Fulshear, TX, to a location near you. You will be included in a group chat to track your dog during transport and receive updates on arrival times.
