Gigi

Gigi is a sweet 3 1/2 year old, 12-pound dachshund mix who is on a journey to become a confident house pet. She was a breeder release and is still learning what it's like to live in a loving home. After six months with her foster family, Gigi is finally starting to settle in and enjoy the comforts of home. She loves to run in a fenced yard and will happily snuggle on the couch with her people or other foster dogs. While she's still a bit shy about being held by strangers, she's slowly warming up at adoption events. Gigi is not a fan of children and will bark excessively if they are present. She is good with small dogs. She is not yet comfortable with a leash and fights it, but she does wear a harness for events. Gigi had to have most of her teeth removed due to rot and eats softened kibble mixed with canned food and warm water.

Ideal Home

Gigi would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard, as this is a must for her. Due to her dislike of children, she would do best in an adult-only home.

Training & Support

Gigi is not yet comfortable with a leash and actively fights it. She also needs continued patience and understanding as she adjusts to life as a house pet and warms up to new people. She is not good with children and will bark excessively.

Transportation

Gigi is currently located in our foster home in South Dakota. Transportation can be arranged to other states.
