About Oreo
Oreo is a one-year-old "everything-in-one" mystery mix who is ready to find his forever family. Whether you are looking for a car-ride companion or a professional snuggler, Oreo is your guy. He is a sturdy, medium-large boy weighing 55–60 lbs. His DNA results show a unique blend of American Staffordshire Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, and American Pit Bull Terrier, with a dash of 12 other breeds – truly one of a kind!
Oreo had a rough start in life, as he and his siblings were found abandoned. Despite this, he has maintained a sweet and social nature. He recently enjoyed a day out with a volunteer, proving himself to be a natural in the car and a gentleman around people and other dogs. Oreo has energetic "zoomie" spurts but is surprisingly low-maintenance; after about 10 minutes of activity or a good walk, he's ready to relax. He recently spent an afternoon in a home and was a perfect guest, showing no accidents and understanding that potty time is for outdoors. Oreo is fascinated by the television, with his current favorite being "Clifford the Big Red Dog." It took him a moment to understand the purpose of a couch, but once he did, he became a world-class cuddler.
Ideal Home
Oreo gets along great with other dogs and is very sweet-natured. Because he is still a young, bouncy boy who likes to jump up to say "hello," we recommend a home with children ages 10 and up. He was recently groomed and was a "Gold Star" patient for his bath and nail trim. He hasn't met a cat yet, but we are happy to test him with feline friends upon request. He has a hilarious habit of putting his front legs in his water bowl while he drinks, which is perfect for anyone who appreciates a dog with a sense of humor.
Ongoing Health
Oreo is fully vetted and ready to settle into your heart. His adoption includes a comprehensive health package. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella). He was recently dewormed and is consistently maintained on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Within 10 days of his trip to you, Oreo will receive a fresh health certificate exam and a fecal exam.
Training & Support
Oreo is a social butterfly and a gentleman with other dogs. He has shown an understanding of house training during his recent home visit.
