Loki is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix, weighing around 40 pounds, and expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He's a fearless, bold, and entertaining pup who was rescued with his mother and siblings from a wooded area. Loki is brave, curious, and approaches life with a sense of adventure, often leading the charge in exploring new things. He enjoys climbing and playing keep-away with his toys. Loki is potty trained and eager to learn, though a few accidents may happen as he adjusts to a new routine. He can be a little hesitant with new experiences but quickly overcomes it. Loki loves food and will happily make his way to the front of any treat line. After a day of play, he transforms into a snuggly lap buddy. He is generally good with people and other dogs, having greeted adults and children positively at a community event. He has some experience with crates and is learning leash skills and basic obedience.
Ideal Home
Loki would thrive in a home that is committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Loki. If you don't currently have another dog, we would love to hear your plan for continued socialization, such as structured training classes, supervised daycare, or regular playdates with trusted dogs. Because Loki is still young, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
Loki is a healthy young dog with no specific health conditions mentioned.
Training & Support
Loki is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building lifelong confidence.
