Anubis

Anubis is a 68 lb, smart, and loving dog who is learning to be a dog. He was found tied up and abandoned, but he is now enjoying his freedom and loves to run and play in the yard. Anubis loves toys and chewies, and he walks well on a leash. He is excited to meet new dogs and wants to play, though his initial excitement can sometimes make other dogs uneasy. He listens well and is learning commands. Anubis previously enjoyed the company of children from neighboring houses. He is still new to us, so we are continuing to learn about him.

Ideal Home

Anubis can be wary of new people, so slow and proper introductions are essential. He seems uncomfortable with hats and sunglasses, and he will give cues when he feels uneasy.

Training & Support

Anubis is learning commands and walks well on a leash. His excitement with new dog friends might require some guidance for initial interactions. He did have an incident where he bit someone who reached into his enclosure and petted him roughly, despite Anubis showing signs of discomfort. This is believed to be an isolated incident as he has not repeated this behavior.
