Dixie

Dixie is a sweet and gentle adult dog who came to us when she was very pregnant. She was a stray and was accused of being part of a pack of dogs killing chickens, but she has been perfectly fine around our own chickens. It's likely she was pregnant and starving, and may not have even been one of the dogs involved. Dixie loves other dogs and is good with cats, making her an easy and wonderful companion.

Ideal Home

Dixie is a friendly dog who can be a little shy. She would likely thrive in a home where she can feel secure and loved.

Ongoing Health

Dixie has a BB in her back that the vet believes is safely located and not currently causing issues. They may attempt to remove it during her spay surgery. She previously had infected wounds that have since healed completely.

Training & Support

Dixie enjoys leash walks and was a perfect patient at the vet.

• We offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt program for adult dogs to ensure a smooth transition and bonding period before adoption is finalized.

Adoption fees range from $300-$500 and include a vet exam, spay/neuter, microchip, necessary blood work and dental care, deworming, and age-appropriate vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies). Flea treatment is also provided. Please inquire about any specific medical needs or vaccine details.
