About Spud
Tiny Potato. Professional Cuddler. Survivor.
Spud's story could have ended very differently. This little guy was found completely alone after being dumped during a terrible storm in Texas. Thankfully, an incredible person spotted him and brought him to safety. Because of that kindness, Spud is now warm, loved, and getting the chance every puppy deserves. We believe Spud is only about 5-6 weeks old. As for his breed? Hound mix? Jack Russell? Rat Terrier? A little bit of everything? We honestly don't know. What we do know is that he's absolutely adorable. Based on the size of his paws, we suspect he may grow to around 40 pounds, but at this age that's simply an educated guess. What isn't a guess is his personality. Spud is sweet, affectionate, playful, and wonderfully social. He loves people, enjoys being held, and has already mastered the art of melting hearts with one look from his big puppy eyes. He's curious about the world around him and approaches new experiences with the kind of bravery only tiny puppies seem to possess. One minute he's exploring every corner of the room, and the next he's curled up in your lap fast asleep. Spud's rough beginning is behind him now. The scary storm, the loneliness, and being left behind are all part of his past. What he needs now is a family to make sure the rest of his story is nothing but happy chapters. If you're looking for a puppy who is equal parts adorable, resilient, and impossible not to love, Spud may be your perfect match.
Ideal Home
We recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Training & Support
Like any young puppy, Spud will need an adopter committed to helping him learn all the important puppy skills. Potty training, crate training, socialization, leash walking, and basic manners are all still ahead of him. He's very much a baby and will need patience, consistency, and lots of love as he grows. Every rescue pup is a work in progress and that's the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again. Adoption isn't about perfection; it's about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they're finally home. That's when you'll see them bloom - soft and steady - into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you'll realize they were never the only one being rescued.
