I've heard people say I had a bit of a rough start in life. I'm Stephan, and for a while, I wasn't sure what to make of this big world or the humans in it. Kindness was something I had to learn about slowly, one gentle word and one patient person at a time. Because of that, I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but if you give me a chance, a soft voice, and a kind heart, you'll get to watch something really special happen—I start to bloom.
Every day I'm becoming braver and more confident. I've discovered that people can be pretty wonderful, and recently I learned about something that has completely changed my life: TOYS. Oh boy, are they fun! I still get excited every time I get to play, as if I'm making up for lost time. Watching me discover new things is one of my favorite ways to make my humans smile.
Another thing I absolutely love? Other dogs. If you really want to see the happiest version of me, just put me in a yard with a canine friend. Nothing beats running, playing, and zooming around with a four-legged buddy. When I'm out there having fun with my dog pals, my joyful personality shines through for everyone to see.
I'm looking for a family that understands that some of us need a little extra time to feel safe. In return, you'll get to be part of my journey as I continue growing into the confident, loving dog I'm meant to be. The best things in life are worth waiting for, and I think I'm one of them.
