Olivia is a roughly 2-3 year old, 40 lb female Weimaraner mix with a heart of gold and a spirit that knows no bounds. She was rescued in Saltillo, Mexico, in September 2023, after being found in a terrible condition. It appears Olivia may have a spinal or hip injury and was cruelly abandoned by her previous owners. Despite her past struggles and a rough start to life, Olivia is an incredibly happy, affectionate, and funny dog who radiates gratitude for her new lease on life. She's independent and doesn't let her condition hold her back, embracing every moment with joy. Olivia loves to play and is always eager to bring cheer and affection to her family.
Ideal Home
Olivia would thrive as the "only dog" in her home. She needs a family willing to give a rescued pet at least three months to fully show their personality. A home with a fenced backyard is essential for her safety and enjoyment. Ideal adopters will have an open mind and understanding regarding the needs and potential behaviors of rescued animals, especially those who require protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, as is a high level of tolerance and patience.
Ongoing Health
Olivia has undergone extensive veterinary care, including being spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and tested for various common ailments. She tested negative for heartworm and has a negative 4DX test. She is currently on monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available.
Training & Support
Olivia is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this. Due to the high number of rescued pets, comprehensive house-training for each animal is not feasible within the rescue environment. Patience and consistency will be key to helping her adjust and learn.

Transportation
Olivia is currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast of the United States on our cross-country transport. Transport to the adopter's home address is available.
