Joy in IA

Joy is a delightful 7-year-old, 17-pound bundle of love who is looking for a patient and understanding family to help her blossom. She was previously with a breeder, so many everyday things are new to her. Joy is slowly gaining confidence and her favorite activities include snuggling on cozy blankets, soft dog beds, and quietly observing the world from the couch. She's starting to show interest in toys, but for now, she's happiest just being near her people. Joy is crate trained and loves to sleep snuggled up with her humans and foster siblings. She thrives on company and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time.

Ideal Home

Joy absolutely adores other dogs and would love to have a confident, friendly canine companion in her forever home to help her learn that the world is a wonderful place. She needs a patient, gentle, and understanding family who will give her time, love, and reassurance as she continues to discover new things. A fenced yard is required, as she is not interested in walks at this time.

Ongoing Health

Joy has no known health issues. All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

Training & Support

Joy is house-trained in progress and doing great, especially with access to the backyard! She is also leash-trained in progress and rides well in a car. She is very shy with strangers and takes time to gain her trust.
