Milky Way

Milky Way is a charming Chihuahua boy who weighs about 8.6 lbs. Born on January 10, 2026, he's a playful, happy, and affectionate little dog who loves to run and enjoy life. He's social and always ready to join in the fun. Milky Way is generally quiet and not much of a barker, but his sweet personality speaks for itself. He sleeps in an open crate at night and is comfortable using it as his safe space. Like most young dogs, he is curious and enjoys chewing, so he will need patience and guidance as he continues to mature. Milky Way's story began under difficult circumstances. He and his siblings were born into a home where they were initially wanted, but as they grew older, their care became a burden to the family. Thankfully, we were able to step in before they were abandoned and give them a second chance. Today, Milky Way is safe and loved, and now he is searching for a forever family of his own. He deserves a lifetime of kindness, stability, and love, and he will reward his family with endless devotion.

Ideal Home

Milky Way would do best in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He needs a family with the intention to truly rescue him, understanding the needs of street animals and their behaviors. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer. He also requires high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies.

Ongoing Health

Milky Way has received a spay/neuter certificate, 2 shots of DHPPI vaccine, a rabies vaccine, a Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and is microchipped. He has also had a 4DX test and certificate, a negative heartworm test certificate, and is on monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra. He comes with a health certificate and vaccine booklet. Please note that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past trauma.

Training & Support

Milky Way is not house-trained and will require patience and guidance as he matures and continues to learn. He enjoys chewing, so providing appropriate chew toys and redirection will be important.

• If your application is a match, we will schedule a call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
• If approved, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Transporation

Milky Way is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip if adopted. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. Our transport process includes scheduled trips with a contracted company, comprehensive paperwork including a health certificate from the USDA, and real-time updates throughout the journey. The transport team will also conduct a final home review upon delivery.
