Caico

This is Caico, a puppy rescued from St. Lucia who is looking for a lot of love and a peaceful home to really shine. At first, he can seem timid, but opens up and shows his true personality with some treats and gentle greetings. Caico is a very sensitive and attentive dog when it comes to emotions and matching the energy both humans and other dogs need. He is a playgroup rockstar, loving romping and playing in the yard with his dog pals, and gets along with every dog he meets. Caico also has lived with a smaller and larger dog and did very well playing with them. Once he becomes attached to you, Caico is a big fan of getting endless butt scratches while wrapping himself around your legs. He loves stuffed animals in particular, though he's fond of ripping them up and pulling out all their fluff.

Ideal Home

Caico would do best in a home with folks who have plenty of time to spend working with him to help him grow his confidence. He is sensitive to sudden changes and loud noises.

Ongoing Health

Caico has poor depth perception due to only having one eye left.

Training & Support

Caico should be fed in a separate room as he is protective of his dinner. Caico really needs a family who has the time, patience, resources, and knowledge to bring out the world's best pup hiding under his nervous exterior.

Caico is located at SPCA Cincinnati and can be transported within a 2-hour radius of the shelter.
