Leena is a sweet 14-year-old lady who found herself looking for a new beginning when her person sadly passed away. She was a beloved lap dog in a quiet home for many years, and the shelter environment was understandably overwhelming for her. Her foster has discovered that Leena absolutely adores people and thrives on lap time, making her a perfect companion for someone who works from home or is retired. She also seems to enjoy the outdoors, so a fenced yard or porch would be a wonderful addition to her new home. Leena has shown she gets along well with other dogs of a similar size in her foster home. We are hoping to find a loving hospice foster or adoptive home where Leena can spend her golden years surrounded by comfort and affection.
Ideal Home
Leena would thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of attention and lap time. A person who works from home or is retired would be ideal. She also enjoys the outdoors, so a fenced-in yard or porch would be a nice bonus. Leena gets along well with other dogs of similar size.
Ongoing Health
Leena is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations (rabies, distemper, and kennel cough), vet-checked, heartworm tested negative, and on preventative. She is microchipped. Leena has an elevated kidney value and is currently on a special diet for kidney disease. She is also developing cataracts in both eyes but navigates well. She had a dental at the shelter and has lost most of her teeth but retains some canines.
Training & Support
Leena is a senior dog with a lifetime of experience being a wonderful companion. Her primary need is love, attention, and a comfortable place to rest.
