Slugger

Slugger is a one-year-old, 51lb Labrador mix who is ready to shower you with kisses! He absolutely adores toys and can play for hours on end. Slugger is very loving and enjoys snuggles. He seems like he would enjoy a family with children. He is learning to control his jumping and will listen when told "no," but consistency is key to reinforcing this behavior.

Ideal Home

Slugger has a lot of puppy energy and needs a home that can help him channel it constructively. He is still working on leash manners and needs consistent correction with treats to obey. While he does well with other dogs, he can be possessive of food and enticing bones, so a home prepared to manage this will be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Slugger is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Slugger was evaluated by Cortney at Stands Alone Canine Solutions, who is happy to work with the adopter to address his food possessiveness. He has grown up in a shelter with limited interaction and is learning slowly, but he is great with men, women, and children, just needing a little time to warm up.
