Everyone, meet Mac! This adorable 10# Miniature Dachshund is six years young and has faced some challenges, but his spirit remains bright! Mac is looking for a loving foster-to-adopt or foster home where he can truly shine. He's a charming fellow with a lot to say, and he'll make sure no one ever sneaks up on you! Mac showed great interest in our resident cat and is reported to be good with other dogs. He does need some practice with housebreaking, but he's a pro with belly bands and is otherwise well-behaved. If you're dreaming of a cuddly, long-haired hot dog to share your life with, Mac might be your perfect match!

Ideal Home

Mac would thrive in a home that understands the needs of Dachshunds. He's likely to be good with children 5 years and older, and he has experience with kids of all ages from his previous home. All family members, including any resident dogs, must come for a meet and greet to ensure a great fit.

Ongoing Health

Mac has had his initial vet check and is up-to-date on vaccines, dewormings, and prescription flea and tick medication. He has also been neutered.

Training & Support

Mac needs a little work on housebreaking, but he tolerates belly bands well and is otherwise a well-trained pup. Consistency and patience will go a long way in helping him succeed.

Transporation

Mac is located in Adams, NY. Foster-to-adopt placements are limited to within an 80-mile radius of Adams, NY. Pets must be seen in person by all family members prior to adoption and will not be shipped. Dogs in the home must attend the meet and greet. Pets needing additional care before adoption must be brought to our vet's office in Adams, NY. Once adopted, we recommend establishing care with your own veterinarian.
