Rusty

Rusty is a handsome 6-year-old Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his personality! He came to us as a stray, and while we tried to find his owners, he's now ready to start his new adventure with a loving family. Rusty is a fantastic conversationalist, always letting you know what's on his mind in true Shepherd fashion. He absolutely adores a game of fetch and is a pro at bringing the ball right back! He's a very smart boy, eager to learn new tricks, and is already leash-trained, house-trained, and knows basic commands. Rusty’s calm demeanor and pleasant nature have charmed all our staff and volunteers during his Doggy Day Out adventures. He walks beautifully on a leash without pulling and is incredibly responsive to commands. He loves to play fetch, enjoys a good run in the yard, and can even relax in the car after a fun day. Rusty is incredibly loyal, gentle, and would be a wonderful addition to any family looking for a devoted companion.

Rusty is seeking a home where he can be the only pet.

Ongoing Health

Rusty's adoption fee includes his spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, and heartworm testing. He also comes with a small bag of food to help with the transition.

Training & Support

Rusty is leash-trained, house-trained, and knows basic commands. He’s very responsive to commands and eager to learn more.

• Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis, and we are not able to hold animals.
• If Rusty isn't the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to find a suitable match.
• All household members, including children, must come for the meeting to ensure a good fit.
• Same-day adoptions are encouraged if a match is made.
