Princess is a delightful approximately four-year-old spayed female Terrier Pittie mix with a birthday of November 14, 2021. She found herself in a difficult situation after being returned to a high-kill shelter for being too energetic and happy, a trait that tragically put her at risk. Thankfully, she was saved and is now in a foster home, eagerly awaiting her forever family! Princess is up-to-date on all her shots, is heartworm negative, and receives monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She's also crate-trained and house-trained. While she was initially very energetic, she has settled wonderfully now that she feels safe and loved. She adores car rides and squeaky toys. Princess knows her commands but can get excited and jump for attention. With gentle correction and a command like "sit," she'll promptly sit to receive pets. She's a happy and enthusiastic dog who needs an owner who appreciates her zest for life and her pure joy of being with her people. Princess is a dedicated chewer, so providing her with appropriate toys like Kongs and bully sticks is essential to redirect her chewing habits, much like you would for a puppy. She will bark for attention, including to let you know she needs to go potty or wants some love. She understands that sitting is the key to receiving pets. Princess is friendly with both male and female dogs of medium and large breeds. While she's friendly towards small dogs and cats, her high energy level might be too much for very small animals. She knows commands such as sit, come, stay, off, and heel for leash walking, and she happily accepts treats.
Ideal Home
Princess would thrive with an active family, couple, or single person who appreciates her happy disposition. Her ideal home includes older children who can handle her excitement without being overwhelmed. She absolutely NEEDS A FENCED YARD and is not suitable for an apartment. She can be the only dog, provided she receives plenty of exercise, or she could happily share her home with a canine companion who matches her energy and enthusiasm.

Princess is up-to-date on all her vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and is on monthly preventative medication for heartworm and fleas/ticks.
Training & Support
Princess knows her basic commands like sit, come, stay, off, and heel for leash walking. She is learning to control her excitement and will sit to be petted when reminded. As an avid chewer, she benefits from a variety of chew toys to satisfy her needs. She will bark for attention and to go outside.
