About Tamera Honey The Sweetest Family Dog
Tamera Honey is about to be your girl if your dream dog is the kind that can't get close enough to you, the kind who melts into every pet, leans in for more, and turns affection into her full-time job. She has that big, over-the-top, all-in kind of love that Shepherd people know and hope for. The kind that makes you laugh, makes you feel wanted, and somehow makes every interaction feel like the best part of her day. Tamera Honey is not only incredibly sweet, but she is also amazing with kids, dog friendly, respectful around cats, and smart. She is believed to be a German Shepherd mix, approximately 12 years old, and weighs 58 lbs. While her exact age and breed are a mystery, her looks suggest some GSD in her DNA. We'd love to find adopters with some GSD experience who understand their fun, independent spirit and are ready for a loving, adventurous companion. Tamera is dog friendly and has done great with all dogs introduced, though she prefers slightly slower introductions before playtime. Her play style is typical of a shepherd: mouthy air play, nose boops, and plenty of chase games. She's more of a "bounce-around, run-alongside-her-friends" girl than a constant wrestler, and she'll give subtle corrections if play gets too rough, like an older sister setting fair boundaries. Tamera would do best with a moderately playful dog that enjoys both playtime and downtime, but she doesn't need a canine companion to feel comfortable. She is a total lovebug with her people and will be perfectly happy with backyard play sessions or neighborhood walks. Tamera was respectful and not bothered by Biggie, the resident house cat, showing all the right signs. We can arrange a meet-and-greet or sleepover to ensure a good fit with your feline friends. Tamera is a smart girl, treat-motivated, eager to please, and already knows how to sit, down, shake, spin, roll over, and speak! She walks fairly nicely on a leash, occasionally pulling out of excitement, but responds well to gentle reminders and is easy to refocus. She's also comfortable tandem walking with other dogs. She is crate trained and potty trained! With consistency and a few treats, any additional training will be a fun and rewarding experience.
Ideal Home
Tamera would thrive in a semi-active home that enjoys neighborhood walks, a little adventure, and a whole lot of affection. She will absolutely be the first one at the door greeting your guests. She'd make an amazing adventure buddy for trips to the park, nature trails, or local outings. She would thrive in a home with a backyard where she can stretch her legs, soak up the sunshine, and happily hang out alongside you. Apartment living will not be a good fit for her. Tamera has been around children as young as 7 and handled it beautifully, showing gentleness, patience, and respect. She has all the makings of a true family dog who will happily be part of playtime and settle in for cozy moments.
