Meet Phillip, a 50-pound Staffy mix who has mastered the art of flinging plushie toys with the grace of an Olympic discus thrower. This guy lives for toy time, and his love for play is only rivaled by his love for snuggles—especially after he's aced bath time like the superstar he is! Phillip might come off as a bit shy at first, but don’t let that fool you. This big-hearted pup is just working on finding his voice and building up that self-confidence. He’s getting better every day, and his leash manners are coming along nicely. He’s had playdates with pups his size and even a Pyrenees puppy, proving he’s got the charm to win over just about anyone. Phillip is good with men and women, but he's still figuring out the whole "humans raising their hands" thing—he’s not a fan. We suspect he’s had some rough experiences, so he’s learning that hands can be for pets, not threats. This sweet boy has a moderate to high energy level, so he’s not just a couch potato—though he’ll definitely enjoy some downtime with you. Phillip needs his daily dose of exercise and mental challenges, whether it’s a long walk or some puzzle toys to keep that sharp mind busy. He’s crate-trained and doesn’t dig, but let’s just say he’s got a strong relationship with his chew toys—supervised play is a must! Phillip knows how to sit, but when treats are involved, his enthusiasm sometimes gets the best of him. We’re working on it, and he’s making great progress. Phillip is looking for a home that will give him the space to continue growing into the confident, happy dog he’s destined to be. Ready to bring this shy but sweet toy-flinging, bath-loving boy into your life? Phillip’s waiting for you to show him that forever is a real thing!
Ideal Home
Phillip needs a home that understands he’s a work in progress and can offer patience and love. Homes with children 10 years and over are recommended to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
Ongoing Health
Phillip is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has been neutered.
Training & Support
Phillip is still working on his confidence and leash manners. He can be a bit strong on the leash and is learning to not be a fan of hands being raised. He is learning to control his enthusiasm when treats are involved. Supervised play with chew toys is a must.
